These are the questions I am going to ask to get feedback on my music magazine drafts.

Research and Planning- Questionnaire results

These are my questionnaire results that I got from 10 different people:

9 sixteen years of age, 1 seventeen years of age

3) What music genre is your favourite?
3 Pop, 2 Rock, 1 Indie, 1 Alternative, 1 House, 2 Rap.

4) Do you read any music magazines?
4 Yes, 6 No

5) What magazines do you read? (if yes)
Kerrang, AP, Q, NME, top of the pops, WE love pop
or

5) Why don't you read any music magazines?
5 say don't interest them, 5 say too expensive

6) What would you expect in your favourite genre of magazine?
6 say gossip/ famous stars, 2 say upcoming concerts/interviews, 1 say funny stories

7) Who is your favourite artist of your chosen genre?
One direction, 21 pilots, Coldplay, the weekend, Krypt and konan, imagine dragons, green day, martin garrix, bring me the horizon, one republic. ( all different variations of answers)

8) What is your favourite song?
Bonfire Heart, Charlie brown, Migraine, Grind on me, My nigga, demons, Eye of the tiger, animals, blasphamy

Genre
The genre of this magazine is Rap, to clearly show this they have placed a long shot image of famous rap star 50 Cent and from what he is wearing you can also tell it is a rap magazine.

layout
The layout shows whats inside on the right hand side in a list show the reader how to make his way around the magazine. But it highlights the main story by placing a large picture on the left hand side and the information of where to find this artists story underneath in large bold writing.

Representation
In the image 50 Cent is shown in a sort of over the shoulder shot, this emphasises his gangster style look, for instance: his low hanging pants and loose clothing and the backwards bandana on his head giving him the bad boy rapper image.

Target audience
This contents page looks to appeal to the younger teenage generation, mostly males because generally more males are interested in rap than females, and also mostly appeals to lower classes because not many upper class people listen to rap.

Research and Planning- Double page spread analysis

Target audience
The target audience for this double page spread is stereo-typically female teenagers because it has two figures that are popular in the female favoured boy band 'One Direction' and not many males like boy bands.

Layout
There is an image on each of the pages and the text is also on the same side on each page, this makes it easier for the reader to read the double page spread.

Genre of magazine
The genre of the magazine is clearly pop because there are 2 big stars in the pop industry from a popular pop group called 'One direction'

Research and Planning- Mastheads for my magazine

To decide which masthead I was going to use for my magazine I passed a piece of paper around with all three fonts on and asked each individual to tick their favorite font. 7 chose the first font, 4 chose the second one and 5 chose the third. This helped me towards my decision in what masthead to use for my magazine cover.

It is the most appealing font because it is gold and in a spray paint type font, in which both of these points link closely to gang culture and rap as a genre.
